Business Security

Protect your Company's data and sensitive information today!

No matter the size of your business, it is important to adopt a proactive approach to defend
against the latest web threats. It can be a daunting task!

What You Can Do

Feel confident and secure.
  • Stay calm and don't rush into decisions.
  • Beware of emotional manipulation.
  • Use strong not shared passwords and use a unique password for individual websites / services.
  • Do not allow internet browsers to remember your MCB password.
  • Know we will never ask for your online password on a form, by phone, or email.
  • Report unsolicited calls, emails, texts, or social media messages.
  • Watch carefully the links you click and the attachments you open.
  • Never send money to someone you haven't spoken to in person and verified his/her identity.
  • Report suspicious activity about any attempted scams.

Stay vigilant and protect against malicious individuals. Watch for red flags that could signal a scam:
  • Unexpected spikes in traffic or unrecognized devices connecting to the network could indicate a cyberattack or unauthorized access.
  • Running unpatched or outdated software, including operating systems and applications, increases vulnerability to cyberattacks targeting known flaws.
  • Password reuse, weak passwords, and the absence of multi-factor authentication make it easier for attackers to gain access to sensitive systems.
  • Employees unaware of basic security protocols (e.g., phishing detection, strong password practices) are more likely to make errors that lead to security breaches.
  • Unrestricted physical access to sensitive areas or devices, and poor device disposal practices, can expose the business to theft, data breaches, and internal threats.

Providing you a private and secure banking environment.

  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) should be enabled for all business accounts, especially for accessing sensitive systems and data. This adds an extra layer of security beyond just passwords, helping to prevent unauthorized access even if login credentials are compromised. Set up Online and Mobile Banking alerts to notify you of activity.
  • Ensure that all company-issued mobile devices are encrypted to protect data in case of theft or loss. Additionally, implement Mobile Device Management (MDM) software to enforce security policies, remotely wipe data, and monitor mobile device usage for suspicious activity.
  • Keep both mobile and online software up to date, including operating systems, apps, and security software. Security patches address known vulnerabilities that cybercriminals often exploit, so timely updates are crucial in protecting against mobile and online threats.
